Stranger in a Strange Land

You know what's better than watching HDTV? Watching the Brewers beat the Cubs, in Chicagoland, on HDTV.

Was anyone else as impressed as I was with Mike Cameron's first outing as a Brewer? That guy was on fire tonight. Let's hope he can carry that into the rest of the season.

Or how about Eric Gagne? Thanks for not blowing another save, dude. Not blowing saves is awesome!

I really need to get to a Brewers game...

Button Clicking Time!

I'm a fan of Gooch's surveys and thought, "Why the hell shouldn't I give it a go?" The poll does my survey methodology background a whole lot of shame, but what are you going to do? Check it out on the right hand side of the page.

How is it Sunday night already?

Boredom

I'm tired and lazy today. We spent last night in Madison celebrating Matthew's birthday and it was on the drive back that I decided to transition from blogging on MySpace to blogging here. I think I'll end up writing more here as I've become all too aware lately that my friends' use of MySpace has deteriorated in the last half-year or so. Thus, my own interest in it has waned.

Anyways, I'm also going through pictures that I've taken on my camera and thought I'd post some with my uber-cool brothers-in-law. The first is from Maui:

And here is one from last night:

Cognitive Dissonance

There is a term in psychology that describes the difference between one's beliefs and actions: cognitive dissonance. Wisconsites have a longheld prejudice that people living south of the state border are "FIBs". However, through my own actions I have become a resident of Illinois. By this logic, I am now a FIB. But I don't believe I am one. How do I resolve this contradiction with myself? Wisconsin plates!

At least, until now...

We had to put Illinois plates on Molly's car yesterday. While I am making fun in the paragraph above, putting plates on the car definitely makes the move feel more permanent. However, unlike Molly, I guess I still get to experience the best of both worlds. I'm not a "true" FIB yet because my Civic still has Wisconsin plates, but now I can blame my (sometimes) aggressive driving on being an Illinois driver!
